PosterJet software RIP Print

Version 7 of PosterJet software RIP for Canon and HP Designjet printers is arrived several years ago at the FLAAR evaluation facility at Bowling Green State University. We had already been using PosterJet's earlier version 6 at our other evaluation facility at Francisco Marroquin University. Here are some snapshots showing it in use with our large format inkjet printers there.

That update for PosterJet software RIP will handle all 6 colors of your 6-color Epson 9000, Roland HiFI and other 6-inkhead printers.

But a few months later we switched to using Wasatch because the staff of the university testing facility had issues trying PosterJet on a Canon printer, which was unexpected since PosterJet usually works acceptably on a Canon printer. So since this date all wide format printers at FLAAR have used Wasatch.

This is the reason there is no FLAAR Report on PosterJet Version 7 or PosterJet Version 8 either.

The status of the US office in California of PosterJet is unclear. The PosterJet website no longer lists any US office whatsoever (checked on Jan 31, 2009).

The other RIP we evaluate is Caldera RIP, but this is primarily for use on grand format printers, both solvent-based and UV-curable.

However sometimes "lite" means it is full, but only for a single printer. Then this is okay, since it is a full version as far as the one printer is concerned. However most "lite" versions lack crucial features for full-scale production in a commercial print shop.
